About K2 ESU

K2 ESU is the biggest Explorer Scout Unit in Wrexham. We provide our teenage members with a different adventure every Monday night, top quality weekends away, access to the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme, and amazing trips abroad.

Explorer Scouting is the fourth Section of the Scouts open to young men and women aged 14 to 18. K2 caters mainly for those that live in central Wrexham, but we don't care where you come from as long as you're willing to get here every Monday night!

Wrexham District necker

We have a Partnership Agreement with 1st Rhosnessney Scout Group, meeting in their hut on Dean Road every Monday from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

We get involved in a packed programme of activities illustrated by the backgrounds of the pages of this website, and our Flickr photo gallery. An up to date programme, and the MozBlog - accounts of what we've been doing - can be found on this site's front page. Our Members are encouraged to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme, and work for the Chief Scout's Platinum, Diamond and the Queen's Scout Awards.

Camping

Getting away is important to us. We try and hold as much of our programme outdoors as possible, go camping at the very least once every three months and offer Members several opportunities to travel abroad.

This mountain was named after our Explorer Unit!

The Unit is named after K2, the second highest mountain in the world. It may be not quite as tall as Everest, but it's a lot harder to climb! Find out all about our namesake on Wikipedia
