About K2 ESU
K2 ESU is one of the Explorer Scout Units of Wrexham District Scouts. Explorer Scouting is the fourth Section of the Scouts open to young men and women aged 14 to 18. K2 caters mainly for those that live in central Wrexham, but we don't care where you come from as long as you're willing to get here every Monday night!
We have a Partnership Agreement with 1st Rhosnessney Scout Group, meeting in their hut on Dean Road every Monday from 7.30pm to 9pm.
We get involved in a packed programme of activities illustrated by the backgrounds of the pages of this website, and our Flickr photo gallery. An up to date programme, and the MozBlog - accounts of what we've been doing - can be found on this site's front page. Our Members are encouraged to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme, and work for the Chief Scout's Platinum, Diamond and the Queen's Scout Awards.
Getting away is important to us. We try and hold as much of our programme outdoors as possible, go camping at the very least once every three months and offer Members several opportunities to travel abroad.
The Unit is named after K2, the second highest mountain in the world. It may be not quite as tall as Everest, but it's a lot harder to climb! Find out all about our namesake at Wikipedia |
